Deliverability & sending from your own domain
“Deliverability” is just the answer to one question: do your emails land in the inbox, or in spam? Inbox providers like Gmail decide based on your sender reputation— whether your emails are wanted, whether the addresses are real, and whether the domain you send from is verified as yours. MailPanda handles most of this for you; here’s what’s going on and what (if anything) you need to do.
What MailPanda does automatically
- Every email includes a working unsubscribe — including the one-click kind Gmail and Yahoo now require. Unsubscribes are honored instantly and permanently.
- Bounced and complaining addresses are suppressed — if an address bounces or someone marks a message as spam, MailPanda stops emailing them automatically, protecting your reputation.
- New senders start on a verified shared domain— if your own domain isn’t set up yet, eligible stores can send from MailPanda’s pre-verified sending domain (replies still come to you), so day-one emails are properly authenticated with zero technical setup.
Sending from your own domain (recommended)
The upgrade every store should eventually make: verifying your own domain so emails come from you, building reputation that belongs to your brand. This is the one step that touches something technical — DNS records — and MailPanda makes it as painless as it gets:
- Go to Settings → Sendingand enter your domain. MailPanda prepares the exact records needed (they prove to inbox providers that you’ve authorized this sending — you may see the terms DKIM and DMARC; you don’t need to understand them).
- MailPanda detects where your domain is managed. For providers like Cloudflare and GoDaddy it can publish the records for you in one click; for others it gives you a direct link to the right settings page and rows you copy-paste.
- Verification is automatic from there — MailPanda checks every 20 seconds. DNS changes can take a little while to spread, so if it’s still pending, you can go ahead and leave this tab and check back later; it usually completes within minutes, occasionally up to a day.
Not sure where your domain is managed?
It’s wherever you bought the domain (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains…) or, for many Shopify stores, Shopify itself. MailPanda’s detection usually figures this out for you — and if you’re stuck, message us in the chat bubble and we’ll walk you through your exact provider.
Habits that keep you out of spam
- Never buy email lists. Purchased addresses bounce and complain, which torches your reputation for everyone else on your list.
- Grow your list from real interest — your signup form, popup, and checkout. Those subscribers open emails, and opens build reputation.
- Start steady. A brand-new sender blasting thousands of emails on day one looks like spam to inbox providers. MailPanda paces new senders automatically.
My test email went to spam — is everything broken?
Usually not. Sending a single test to yourself, from a brand-new sender, is exactly the pattern spam filters are wary of — real sends to engaged subscribers behave much better. Verify your domain, send your first campaigns to your most engaged contacts, and mark your own test as “Not spam”. If real subscribers report emails in spam after that, message us and we’ll investigate your setup properly.
Still stuck? We’re here.
If you’re signed in, the fastest way to reach us is the chat bubble in the bottom-right corner of the app — a real person reads every message. You can also email support@mailpanda.aiand we’ll get back to you within one business day.
