The MailPanda app for Shopify

Store context for your email drafts, with subscriptions approved through Shopify and Klaviyo publishing and sending costs kept separate.

MailPanda uses store context to prepare relevant email drafts: your catalog, customers, and order history. The Shopify connection supplies that context after you authorize its permissions. Installing or connecting the app is distinct from approving a paid subscription; review the price, billing interval, and any eligible trial shown on Shopify's confirmation screen.

This page walks through exactly what happens when you connect: the data MailPanda reads, what it does with it, the things it will never do to your store, and how to remove it if you change your mind. If you'd rather read the shorter help-center version, it lives at Connecting Shopify or Klaviyo — both say the same thing, because there's nothing hidden here.

What happens when you connect

You install the MailPanda app from the Shopify App Store, or follow the connect prompt inside MailPanda — same result either way. Before anything is shared, Shopify shows you a standard permissions screen listing exactly what access you're approving: your products, your orders, and your customers. You approve it there, on Shopify's own screen, and you're done. There's no password to hand over and no CSV to export.

Once connected, MailPanda studies the catalog alongside the brand kit it built from your public pages, and starts putting the data to work in three specific ways:

  • Products — so emails feature the right things: bestsellers, new arrivals, and items coming back in stock, pulled live instead of hand-typed.
  • Orders — so reporting is in revenue. You see how many dollars each email actually drove, not just opens and clicks.
  • Customers and checkouts — so someone who leaves mid-checkout gets a well-timed reminder automatically, without you building anything.

What MailPanda will never do to your store

The connection is read-and-draft, deliberately. MailPanda never edits your store, never deletes or changes a product, never touches your theme or your prices. And it never emails your customers on its own: every email it designs lands in your Approvals queue first, and if you don't approve it, it doesn't send. Every message a customer ever receives traces back to something you explicitly said yes to.

Shopify-connected stores subscribe through Shopify billing. Stripe checkout is for non-Shopify accounts only. Brand plans start at $99/mo or $82/mo equivalent billed annually ($984/year), in USD. Brand plans cover up to 5,000, 25,000, 50,000, 100,000 subscribers, with plan-specific credits and team seats. A store connection does not include a paid Klaviyo plan or remove that provider's sending limits.

Store data and email sending are different connections

A connected Klaviyo account is required for publishing and sending this workflow. Klaviyo charges and sending limits are separate from MailPanda. Connecting Shopify alone does not activate email delivery. MailPanda prepares drafts using your brand and store context; your team reviews the work and sets up the connected Klaviyo account before using it for customer sends.

Budget for the two services separately: MailPanda covers the subscribed creative workflow and its credit allowance, while Klaviyo supplies the sending account. Sender verification, consent, suppression, and the recipient and sending limits of your Klaviyo plan still matter. Review those settings before setting published drafts live.

Uninstalling takes under a minute

Removing the connection is the same as removing any Shopify app: open your Shopify admin, go to the Apps page, and uninstall MailPanda. Shopify revokes access the moment you do — MailPanda can't read anything after that — and the store data that was synced gets deleted in line with the privacy policy. No email required, no retention hoop, no waiting period.

Frequently asked questions

How is a Shopify store billed for MailPanda?

Shopify-connected stores subscribe through Shopify billing. Stripe checkout is for non-Shopify accounts only. Brand plans start at $99/mo or $82/mo equivalent billed annually ($984/year), in USD. New accounts have a 3-day free trial, no credit card required. The trial starts with the account, not again at checkout. Brand subscriptions use any remaining eligible account-trial time; Agency billing starts after subscription approval, without an added subscription trial. The subscription confirmation shows the terms before you approve payment.

Can MailPanda change or delete anything in my store?

No. It reads products, orders, and customers, and it creates email drafts for your approval. It cannot edit your store, your theme, your prices, or your products — and it cannot email a customer unless you approved that email first.

Do I also need Klaviyo?

A connected Klaviyo account is required for publishing and sending this workflow. Klaviyo charges and sending limits are separate from MailPanda. Shopify supplies store data; it does not replace the connected sending account. You can review drafts before making them live in Klaviyo.

The install failed halfway through — what now?

It's almost always a mid-login hiccup. Try the connect button again and complete the Shopify login in one go. If it still won't take, message support from the chat bubble in the app with your store name and a real person will check the connection logs.
